“South by Southwest”, “SXSW”, “South-by”, whatever you want to call it, it happened, and it was awesome.
A fun filled week full of panels, keynotes, and so much schmoozing.
We learned our lesson last year and decided to lock down our lodging early. After a four hour red-eye flight, we were pleasantly surprised to find that our house was a mere 10 minute bike-ride from the convention (through Austin’s trendiest neighborhood SoCo, no less).
Over the next few days, we met people from all over the world, flocking to spread their ideas and learn from the greats. Some of their ideas were big, and some of them small; this is likely the most influential place in the world for interactive technology.
Austin is a truly inspiring city. Austin has all the techie offerings of San Francisco and New York with the added perks of authentic BBQ, and ample parking.
At SXSW, we did it all! We listened to Al Gore speak about our responsibilities as citizens of this planet, we took part in a panel with Jack Welch and Gary Weincyzk, and we got the latest scoop in the field of Virtual Reality and it how it can be used for a variety of applications. We also ate, and drank, and ate…..
Now, we are back in San Francisco in a slight post-SXSW depression. But, rest assured, we’ll be back next year with an even greater appetite for knowledge and baby back ribs.
Until next time Austin!
