Welcome to the newest Transparent House Product Feature, discussing our recent virtual-tour experience we created for our partners ChargePoint. Before the pandemic, ChargePoint would perform in-person tours for their CPE250 and CT4000 products, showing off the many features of their charging station. Unfortunately due to Covid-19, starting in March they were no longer able to give in-person tours. ChargePoint came to us seeking a solution to create a virtual tour that showcases the features of the device in real-time, recreating the experience of the live-tour. The result – a tour that not only captures the experience of the original tour, but surpasses it by delivering informational visuals only possible with CGi.
The CPE 250 and CT 4000 tours focus on different aspects of the respective chargers, but the end goal is the same to provide potential customers with comprehensive information. With the CPE 250 tour, we focused on the physical unit, allowing the user to manipulate the digitally recreated model in real-time, as well as accessing specific information points (and small cameo). The CT 4000 tour places the charging unit in a 3D environment created in Unity, demonstrating the area surrounding the device, with other sections focusing on specific features of the unit itself.
Both tours recently launched on ChargePoint’s website, with positive feedback from ChargePoint’s faculty and shareholders. With the work of our talented artists and web developers, the CPE 250 and CT 4000 tours successfully recreates the experience of being on a professionally led tour from ChargePoint.
